WORST SERVICE EVER! The food was decent, though my husband reported having had better lasagna from a box. My meal was good, but the nothing-but-iceberg salad was a disappointment. The desert was excellent. HOWEVER, we were seated in the back of the restaurant where the ceiling leaked onto the floor next to our table throughout our meal. Despite our complaints to both the waitress and the manager about the growing pool on the carpet and the annoying dripping, we were not reseated, though ample seating was available elsewhere. The service was very slow. The waitress could not (or did not want to) discuss the specials for the evening. Refills on drinks were very slow. We were not offered more bread, but had to request it twice, while we were trying to stave off hunger waiting for our meal. We were finally served salads after patrons arriving before us were served meals. We are people who feel it is best not to complain much before being served our food. (My husband worries over a potentially vindictive response.) The service was so poor that we almost left several times before being served. The only reason we stayed was a combination of hunger and desire not to drive a long distance in a storm. After our meal, I spoke to the owner to let her know our dissatisfaction. She offered no real apology and made no effort to 'make things right'. We will not be eating here again. If you want Italian food in this area, we recommend the Pizzeria in Sparta - portions are larger, service is good, food is excellent, and prices are more reasonable. It doesn't have to 'atmosphere' of a fine restaurant, but with the profusely leaking ceiling, neither does Nikola's.

I have been eating here almost everyday. It's definitely fine dining but they have been kind enough to address all of my allergies and I always have a wonderful experience.

This is a gem in the middle of nowhere. Decor looks like time has stopped 30 years ago, but food is really good.

What a great find this place was. I sure hope the locals support this restaurant; it deserves to be in business. A friend and I stopped here while on a motorcycle tour of the BRP. We both were in the mood for old style Italian-American. We weren't disappointed. The garlic bread and the scampi appetizer were a great combo. The scampi sauce was such a good dipping oil, we had a second serving of the bread. We enjoyed Caesar salads that were fresh and with some of the best Caesar dressing I've had in a long time. The dressing was robust, anchovy and grated cheese were apparent, but not overwhelming. We both enjoyed home made lasagna which was one of the specials. Tiramisu was made fresh, and artfully presented with good black coffee. Nice wine list, but we opted for Ruffino Chianti in keeping with our order. If I were in the area, I would be a regular.
